classesAt Imagination we offer 4 classes:
Grouping children in classes discourages bullying and unhealthy competition. Children learn many skills from one another, some studies show that their peer group is possibly most influencial in their development at some stages of their lives. The older children learn from the younger:
The younger children are given a developmental boost in areas of motor skills and language, by imitating older ones in their group. They also learn the diplomacy of sharing, something the older children have already mastered. Indispensible to their experience is the help they get from the older ones in the group with daily tasks. Take, for example, a little boy who has not yet mastered the art of using scissors, either because he is a very cautious child (great quality) or because he just can’t get his fingers to do quite what his mind would like them to. This boy is less likely to feel the pressure of performing or suffer anxiety about it, because, members of his peer group are at a different level developmentally, and each is facing their own challenge. Anyhow, paper can be torn, can it not? Creative solutions to difficult tasks are what Imagination is all about. |
